This practice has been a trusted part of the Grand Rapids community for decades. We've had the privilege of caring for the smiles of our neighbors, our friends, and the families who make this city feel like home. That's not something we take lightly. It's the foundation of everything we do.
Generations of families have walked through our doors. Patients who first came to us as children have grown up, started families of their own, and now bring their kids in for their very first dental visits. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a little one climb into the same chair their parent sat in years ago. Those connections are what make this practice special.
Dr. Brandon Jankowski is proud to carry on this tradition as your neighborhood dentist. His goal has always been simple: treat every patient the way he'd want his own family to be treated. That means recommendations you can trust, gentle care, and a genuine interest in getting to know the people who sit in our chairs.

Dr. Brandon Jankowski, DDS
Owner/Dentist
Dr. Brandon Jankowski is the owner of Eastgate Family Dental and a Michigan native. A proud Wolverine, he earned both his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan, following in the footsteps of his father, who did the same. After graduating, he knew there was only one place he wanted to build his career. Right here in Grand Rapids, serving the community that shaped him.
As a Grand Rapids dentist with over a decade of experience, Dr. Jankowski’s approach is simple: he wants you to feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for. He takes the time to sit down with every patient, explain what he sees, and walk through your options together.
Dr. Jankowski believes that a trip to the dentist shouldn’t feel stressful. Whether you’re coming in for a routine cleaning or something more involved, he and his team work hard to create an environment where patients of all ages feel welcome and at ease. Having spent nearly ten years at the practice and over five as its owner, he’s deeply invested in the care and relationships built here every day.
Outside the office, Dr. Jankowski is a devoted family man. Dentistry runs in his family. His father, a past president of the Michigan Dental Association, served as his mentor and helped shape the values he brings to patient care today. Following in those footsteps, Dr. Jankowski has served as president of both the West Michigan District Dental Society and the Kent County Dental Society, and as a delegate to the Michigan Dental Association. He’s committed to building on the practice’s legacy for decades to come.
Dr. Jonathan Kahn, DMD
Associate Dentist
Dr. Jonathan Kahn grew up in Toledo, Ohio and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin before completing his MBA at Bowling Green State University. He went on to attend Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine, where he received his DMD in 2013, followed by a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. He practiced dentistry in Southern California for 11 years before relocating to Grand Rapids in the summer of 2025 with his wife, Nina, and their three children, Max, Amelia, and Levi.
Dr. Kahn is known for his gentle touch and his ability to put even the most anxious patients at ease. He understands that not everyone looks forward to a dental appointment, and he takes that seriously. Whether it's a nervous child's first visit or an adult who hasn't been to the dentist in years, Dr. Kahn meets every patient where they are with patience and understanding.
What Dr. Kahn loves most about dentistry is the relationships. He enjoys getting to know his patients, learning about their families, and being someone they trust with their care. He's a firm believer that great dentistry starts with great communication, and he'll always take the time to answer your questions and make sure you feel confident about your treatment plan.
Outside the office, Dr. Kahn can most often be found on the sidelines of a youth sporting event, enthusiastically cheering on one of his kids. He also enjoys golfing, skiing, and traveling with his family. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the West Michigan District Dental Society.

Amy
Office Manager
Amy joined our team in 2009. She has been married to Monte since 1998. They have 2 children, Deanna and Kaleb. Deanna and her husband have 2 children. Kaleb is a resident of Grand Rapids where he is active in youth ministries. Amy loves biking, swimming, traveling and Art Prize. She and her Husband spend weekends at the lake getting in as much golf and boating as possible. Her favorite thing about the office is the unwavering commitment to compassionate patient care.
Laura
Dental Hygiene Lead
Laura grew up in Midland and moved to Grand Rapids over ten years ago for college. She has a BFA from Kendall and stayed in the area after graduating to pursue a dental hygiene career at GRCC. In her spare time she enjoys taking classes at the YMCA, her favorites are Yoga and WERQ! She also loves to travel and her true passion is art.
Maija
Hygienist
Maija is a native of Michigan's upper peninsula. She graduated from Ferris State University where she found her passion for caring for others through dental hygiene. She achieved degrees both in dental hygiene and allied health sciences. In her free time, Maija enjoys traveling, watching sports and especially spending time with friends and family.
Christina
Hygienist
Christina graduated from Ferris State University. She has a Boston Terrier named Zeus. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking and taking hot yoga classes. She is passionate about dental health and devoted to educating patients on their individual hygiene needs.
Kendra
Dental Hygienist
Kendra has been a dental hygienist since 2002 and joined our team in 2007. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, and completed her Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene in 2021 in order to also serve as a clinical instructor in the Ferris State Dental Hygiene program, and then her Master's Degree in Education in 2024. In the office, she takes pride in creating a comfortable, positive experience for every patient while delivering high-quality care. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, music, yoga, camping, traveling and spending quality time with her husband and three children.
Laurie
Dental Hygienist
Laurie graduated in 2002 from GRCC. She joined our team in 2018. Laurie is married and has two children, Richerd and Sofia. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and biking. Helping you achieve a beautiful and healthy smile is her goal.
Deanna
Patient Coordinator Lead
Deanna has two children, Ian and Taryn. She enjoys cooking new dishes and baked goods with them. She and her husband, Brad love gardening together. In the summer, Deanna enjoys hiking the dunes in Saugatuck with her family and their 5 dogs.
Jocelyn
Patient Coordinator
Jocelyn is currently a full time college student going into Computer Science at GVSU. She loves spending quality time with her friends and family. When the weather permits, Jocelyn loves spending time outside with her chickens and going on walks.
Amalie
Patient Coordinator
Amalie earned her dental assisting certification from GRCC in 2001. She loves all things dental! In her spare time she loves to swim, ride bikes, walk on trails and garden. She loves to volunteer at Mel Trotter with her sister as well. She is grateful to have 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, a Fiancé named Pete and 2 cats!
Kim
Assisting Lead
Kim joined our team in 2006. She is engaged to Chris and has 2 daughters, Alyssa and Ashley. She has two grandchildren Cassius and Cali. In her free time Kim loves to garden, read, fish and spend her weekends at the lake.
Ashley
Dental Assistant
Ashley has been a valued member of the Eastgate Family Dental team for many years. She is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and ensuring every visit is a comfortable experience.
